video post for special effects class
Rotten-Love Suffering (#8 Final)
The good- great camera angles, balanced use of effects, dramatic, good editing and well acting.
The bad- green screen could of been better and the lighting at some points. the particle effects seemed pasted on at points and you could detect the rectangular layer.
Into the stars (#7 textography)
The Good stuff- Good use of particles and words match the chaos and the build ups with the insanity of the song. good use of backgrounds too, with the lense flares, particles and white noise.
The bad stuff- I think the fonts, font colors and the movements of the word could have been better with the timing of the lyrics. the backgrounds at some points got a little boring, the lense flare and white noise stayed on for too long.
Lizard (#6 particle/shatter)
The good Stuff-good use of particles stop motion, miniatures, music, convincing but a little funny.
The bad stuff- the blue screen could have been better, the explosion was a bit slow, the stop motion was not as smooth as i wanted it. the sound fx could have been clearer.
Tom Green Freddy Got Fingered-banned from veiw for copyright reasons in the US ( #5 midterm)
The Good Stuff-pretty good use of blue Screen, good use of timing and interaction with the clips, decent scaling with the rest of the objects/ characters. more duration with me in the scene in general and decent use of rotoscoping with the actors movements.
the Bad Stuff- scaling could have been a little better, i looked skinny at some points and bigger at others. the blue screen could have been better developed, my hair looked blotchy and there was some fuzz. i exported the clips for time sake and convenience thus in general the quality was not a 100%. The Audio was fuzzy on my camera and the rotoscoping could have been a tad bit smoother.
Green screen (#4 green screen comparsion)
The good stuff- The chroma keying is very well developed theres no shadow or fuzzness. the choker is well deveopled and the angle of the still camera is correct.
The bad stuff- The color of my skin in the green screen shot (dance 1) is a lot darker like i was at the beach compared to the real one (dance 2) which i am very pale looking.
Viscosity Orange (#3 fight)
The good stuff- well made belevable fight scence with good camera angles, relistic fight corigraphing good music and sound fx
the bad stuff- id say the lighting could have been a tad brighter for details. some scence were a little bit jumpy if you watch closely.
Triplets (#2 double)
The good stuff- the divisions are practically unoticable between the 3 triplets and the musical interaction is pretty well done since i played all the intruments through memory
The bad stuff- editing is a little sloppy there is blank screen at the end and the characters disappear suddenly, could have been a longer song with more verbal and perhaps even physical interaction beetween the characters
Things keep Disappearing on Me (#1 disappearing effect)
The good stuff- well done disappearing effects, cool camera angles and a funny story line/acting. good stop action in the begining to move across the floor. funny music!
The bad stuff- some disappearing effects were over used and the acting was to cartoon like when some of the objects disappeared (like he expected it). the lighting was a bit dark at some points.
